Installing BeatAtlas
What Windows shows the first time you run the installer, and how to go on.
- Download the installer from the download page. It is one file, the same for the demo and for your licence.
- Run it from your Downloads folder.
- Accept the licence agreement and choose where to install. Installing for yourself needs no administrator rights.
What Windows shows
This installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows cannot tell who made it. Windows SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC" and show Unknown publisher. That is expected for now.
To install: choose More info, then Run anyway. If you install for all users, Windows also asks whether the app may make changes and shows the publisher as unknown: choose Yes.
To check the file is ours before you run it, open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and type Get-FileHash .\BeatAtlas-1.0.0-setup.exe: the hash it prints must be CD80A7F5417DF5BC3C2F5D329CDEFB0A36EEAFE315AE973B7FC2B75C0FA9BC0A. Download BeatAtlas only from this website. On a Windows 11 PC with Smart App Control switched on, Windows may block an installer that is not signed, with no Run anyway; if that happens, write to us.
The plugin is installed where DAWs look for VST3 plugins. Ask your DAW to scan for new plugins if it does not see BeatAtlas at once.
